Day 1    Tuesday

Early Arrival in Sofia. Accommodation at the hotel / upon availabilitie. 

In the afternoon: Walking Tour of Sofia which comes with a detailed information concerning ancient and modern history. We will walk you through Antiquity, Roman Time Ruins, Arrival of Bulgarians, Byzantine Empire, Medieval Times, Ottoman Invasion, Kingdom of Bulgaria, Communist Times and New Democratic Times.
You are very welcome for a greater time spent in our beautiful capital Sofia.

Day 2 Wednesday

Breakfast.Once you know Sofia and it's secrets you easily can upgrade your knowadge by walking or shop by yourselves.

Day 3 Thursday

Breakfast. Depart early in the morning from busy Sofia and head to the tranquil heart of the Rila mountains, where you can admire the impressive Rila Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Its architecture and the frescoes represent the apogee of Bulgarian Renaissance art. In a one-hour guided tour of the most treasured monuments in the inner yard and the Monastery museum, you will learn the most fascinating facts and stories about the biggest Bulgarian monastery complex. Enjoy free time to buy souvenirs, take photos or to continue to explore it by yourself.Blagoevgrad is situated in Southwestern Bulgaria in Blagoevgrad so-called valleyabout 410 m altitude. The city is located near the southwestern slopes of Rila mountain, in the valley of the Struma and Bistritsa.West of it is visible at the foot of the mountain Vlahina. The area of the city is regionally located in the western part of the Rila-Rhodope Massif.

Breakfast. Free time.Plovdiv City tour: A 2-hour drive from Sofia will take you to the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second largest city and one of its oldest towns. Within 2-3 hours of walking along the city you will discover the history and culture behind a 7000-year old settlement, written by the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Bulgarian civilizations. You can enjoy sightseeing in the Old Town with its museums, historical monuments, revival period houses, lined with souvenir shops cobbled streets or get impressed by the rich Ethnographical Museum and the ancient Roman Theater. Feel the atmosphere of this artistic and trades center and enjoy a lunch at the local restaurants.Bachkovo Monastery: Bulgaria is a country with rich cultural heritage. Important parts of this heritage are the Bulgarian   monasteries. These unique temples are not only historical and architectural landmarks, but symbols of the Bulgarian spiritual power which preserved the Christian faith during many turbulent times. It is no wonder then that our next must-see place in the Plovdiv region is the Bachkovo monastery („Бачковски манастир” pronounced “Bachkovski manastir”). This beautiful landmark is situated 29 km south from Plovdiv and 9 km away from Asenovgrad, in the valley of the Chepelarska river in the Western Rodopi mountain. The monastery is only 2 km south from Asen’s fortress. You can combine the two landmarks in a single trip and go on an exciting Bulgarian adventure!

Day 6 Sunday

Breakfast. Free time or Veliko Tarnovo - Arbanasi - city tour (60 euro) Veliko Tarnovo, the picturesque town that was once the capital of the medieval Bulgarian empire. Here, take a 2-hour tour as your guide describes the city’s history.Arbanasi will take about 2.5 hours.On arrival, hop out and join a 1.5-hour tour of this historical village. Learn about its rich past and monuments, and take in its 17th- and 18th-century churches and examples of Bulgarian National Revival architecture, all of which have seen it become a popular tourist destination.Visit the 15th-century Church of the Nativity of Christ, Arbanasi’s oldest church, and marvel at its magnificent frescoes — incredible examples of icon paintings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Breakfast. Free time in Sofia / last day for rest and final presants
