Air ticket is the document confirming the conclusion of the Contract between a passenger and airlines for air transportation of the passenger and his/her luggage. Before purchasing an air ticket the passenger should become familiar with its conditions, because according to the international law norms a passenger purchasing an air ticket is considered to have become familiar and agreed with the contract conditions.
Electronic air ticket
Electronic passenger ticket is the air ticket in the electronic form which is offered instead of the traditional paper ticket and which makes your flight preparation easy and comfortable. All the information is safely stored electronically in the airline’s special database. The passenger is given a print-out of the e-ticket (Passenger Itinerary Receipt) containing the information about the passenger, route, price, payment, sale office etc. Electronic air ticket – just as its paper version – is the official document confirming the conclusion of contract between a passenger and airlines for air transportation of the passenger and his/her luggage.
The advantage of the e-ticket over the paper ticket:
Where and how to purchase e-tickets?
Presently e-tickets can be purchased in SW Travel ticket offices or the offices of the authorized agencies and on the company’s website www.azal.az . The website is the fastest and most comfortable way of purchasing air tickets: you order air tickets and make your payment online, then print out your itinerary receipt and take it with you to submit it with your ID when you check-in for your flight at the airport.
How to pay for e-tickets?
How is the e-ticket purchase confirmed?
When the e-ticket is issued in a SW Travel ticket office or in an office of an authorized agency the passenger is given a print-out of the electronic air ticket, and when the payment is made in cash or with the plastic banking card a fiscal receipt is issued with a cash-register.
When the purchase is done online its confirmation is the print-out of the electronic air ticket which is sent to the passenger’s e-mail address and which contains the full itinerary information, form, payment details, transportation conditions etc. The itinerary receipt is sent to your electronic address immediately after the payment of the air fare with your plastic card.
We recommend you to take a print-out of your electronic air ticket and have it with you during your trip. Besides, you may have to submit the itinerary receipt to the aviation security services before entering the airport or during the passport control or customs examination as the proof of having the return ticket or travelling to other destinations.
Check-in with the e-ticket.
Check-in at the airport is done based on the identification documents (passport for adults and birth certificate for children). The passenger’s personal details should correspond to the information stated in the e-ticket. During the check-in at the airport the passenger is given a boarding pass and luggage tickets (when checking in luggage for the transporter’s responsibility). Duplicates of boarding passes are not given. Passengers should keep the boarding passes they get on boarding the airplane until the end of the trip. Presently passengers can check-in to the “Azerbaijan Airlines” flights independently 20 hours before the departure. During the check-in the code will be sent to the passenger’s mobile telephone.
Exchanging the e-ticket for a paper tickets
You may exchange your electronic air tickets for a paper ticket. You will simply need to come to any SW Travel office; but there is a service charge of 20 Euro in the local currency of the country of stay for issuing a paper ticket.
